I earned my B.A. in political science at Alfred University. An internship at the Robert R. McComsey Career Development Center, in combination with my experience as a resident assistant, changed the course of my career path from law to higher education. Thanks to a highly influential graduate assistantship in academic affairs and my M.A. in student affairs in higher education I have found my passion in the field of higher education.
I believe in the philosophy of liberal education and its importance in empowering individuals, as well as enlightening them with a broad understanding in multiple disciplines and skills sets. While working with the N.Y.S. Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Opportunity Program and School of Humanities and Sciences at Ithaca College, I took great pride in helping our students and others understand the interdisciplinary nature of their dreams and educational goals. I am able to continue that work through my liaison roles at the College and my professional network.
In August 2015, I started my current role at the College - assistant to the president. I am responsible for a broad range of executive and administrative items that include supporting initiatives/projects, committee work, acting as the liaison with internal and external constituencies, and other items in support of the college and president. The position is exciting, challenging, and rewarding. It has afforded me the opportunity to continue learning about the many facets of higher education while making meaningful contributions to an institution and community that are deeply important to me.
My personal philosophy is education and life, both personal and professional, should challenge you to be the best version of yourself while inspiring you to pursue your dreams.
