While earning my B.A. in political science at Alfred University, I had the opportunity to work as the Gibbs Intern at the Robert R. McComsey Career Development Center. My internship, in combination with my experience as a resident assistant, changed the course of my career path from law school to higher education. Thanks to a highly influential graduate assistantship in academic affairs and my M.A. in student affairs in higher education I have found my passion in higher education.
Not only am I a product of the liberal arts philosophy, but I am a true believer in liberal education and its importance on the micro and macro levels. While working in the School of Humanities and Sciences and N.Y.S. Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Opportunity Program at Ithaca College, I took great pride in knowing that I was helping our students understand the interdisciplinary nature of their dreams and educational goals. I feel blessed to be able to continue that work with our students with my liaison roles, as well as through other opportunities.
In Fall 2015 I took on the responsibilities of assistant to the president - a position that is exciting, challenging, and rewarding. It has afforded me the opportunity to continue learning about the many facets of higher education, as well as make meaningful contributions to an institution and community that I care deeply about.
