Retired Project Manager and Business Analyst, Engagement and Client Technologies

Hello,

I am a member of the Engagement, Projects and Services team. We engage faculty, staff and students to identify technology needs, work with the various governance committees to prioritize projects of all sizes and use standard project management methodologies to guide the completion of the projects. My current title is project manager / business analyst. I lead major efforts, fulfilling the role of both project manager and business analyst to develop requirements for solutions to meet the technology needs of the campus and following the process through to delivery.

My history with the college started long before I obtained my current position. After high school, I spent two years as an undergraduate student at Ithaca College majoring in math and physics. I then joined the work force as a computer operator at a local bank.  I took advantage of an opportunity the bank offered to learn computer programming and remained on staff there for a couple years. After leaving the bank, I did a number of things including some programming and some schooling.  In 1980 I accepted an offer of employment from Ithaca College. As a programmer/analyst I worked first with the Admission system and then with Financials. After five years I left the college to pursue other interests including a three year stint in Va Beach, VA.  But the call for home beckoned to me and I returned to Ithaca and the College in May 1988 and have been an employee here ever since.

I must say that I love working at the college.  I love the benefits (three of my four children went to IC tuition free and I earned my undergrad degree here!). I love walking the grounds, sitting on a bench by the chapel and having a quite moment at Turtle Bridge.  It's just a great place to work.
