Services like Technorati, Reddit, digg, etc, are pretty amazing. They keep the pulse of the online universe at any moment. Google's Zeitgeist is nice, but it's almost too slow. The mainstream media might tell you what the blogosphere is talking about, but they're not counter culture enough.

Ithaca College has its own ecosystem of online happenings, but you wouldn't know it by looking at our site. News and blogs are scattered to disparate corners of the site and there isn't any one place that ties them together. If someone came to our site wondering what kinds of things go on at IC, where do they find the answer? Press releases are on the home page, but press releases aren't written to answer that question necessarily.

There are a few good sources of what's happening at IC:

• Rattle covers shows, events, and other happenings
• Fuse looks at all that Ithaca's experiential learning can offer
• ICView links alumni with what's happening on South Hill

One of our next projects will be to provide a hub to aggregate news and blogs from around campus.
