Assistant Director for Multicultural Affairs
Office of Student Engagement & Multicultural Affairs
The Office of Student Engagement and Multicultural Affairs is dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive environment on campus that complements the academic experience, connects and engages all students with the Ithaca College community, and provides opportunities for on-going personal and professional development. Through our programs and services, we serve as a catalyst for all students to successfully transition to a new social and academic environment; participate and enhance involvement on campus; explore and develop cultural competencies; serve as agents of social change; and understand and enhance their leadership capacities.
In my role, I work with programs and services that reach to all students, but in particular, those that target our ALANA (African, Latino, Asian, & Native American) student population. I came to Ithaca College in the fall of 2006 from my previous institution, Cornell University, where I received my Bachelors of Science degree in Human Development, with concentrations in Adolescents, Families, and Social Policy.
I specifically coordinate:
- Ithaca Achievement Program
- Cultural Theme Month Programming (Latino Heritage Month, Native American Month, Black History Month, Focus Asia Month)
- MLK Campus Wide Celebration
- Cross-Cultural Leadership Retreat
- IC Preview Summer Program
My work also extends to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholar Program, the Diversity Awareness Committee, presentations and trainings on Diversity and Inclusion, graphic design, and many other things.
Student Organizations that I advise:
- African Latino Society
- Amani Gospel Singers
- Community Church Leadership Program
- Festival of Black Gospel Coordinating Committee
- Student to Student Mentoring Program
