As the Assistant Director for Alumni and Employer Relations in the Office of Career Services, I focus on the campus recruiting program as well as provide career counseling for students and alumni. I currently coordinate our marketing efforts as well as the following events and special projects:
- Fall Job, Internship & Volunteer Fair
- Speed Networking (with local professionals)
- Take an Ithacan to Work Week (job-shadow program)
- On-campus recruiter visits
- Assist with the planning for several off-campus career fairs including the Career & Internship Connection winter break fairs & the Central New York Communications Consortium
- Road Trips to the Real World (sponsored by the Eastern Association of Colleges and Employers)
- Webinars focusing on the federal internship & job search processes
- Coordinate the application processes and selection committees for the Class of 2008 Internship Scholarship; Washington, DC Internship Scholarship; Carnegie Junior Fellows Program
I enjoy making connections with fellow alumni and other professionals as I work to enhance our services to students through my involvement with off-campus organizations such as:
- Eastern Association of Colleges and Employers (EACE)
- National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE)
- Ithaca Forward and the Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce
- Ithaca Youth Bureau's College Discovery Program Advisory Board
- Leadership Tompkin's Advisory Board
- State Theatre Volunteers
After graduating from IC (Sociology '98), I spent five years working with a grassroots advocacy campaign before pursuing my Master of Science degree in Higher Education from Syracuse University. I then spent two years as an Assistant Director of Admission before transitioning to my current position in Career Services.
