As Manager of the Academic Advising Center, Ryan M. DeLany, M.S, is responsible for the coordination of the professional academic advising services offered to Ithaca College students in the Academic Advising Center. In collaboration with deans, faculty, staff and the other units of the Center for Academic Advancement (Student Accessibility Services, Tutoring Services, and the Office of State Grants), Ryan and the other professional staff members of the Academic Advising Center work diligently to foster student success and find the most suitable resource on campus in order to best serve student needs.
Following completion of his graduate coursework, Ryan began his professional work in academic services as a Retention Counselor at Paul Smith's College, assisting at-risk, probationary, and transfer students. He then continued his work as an Academic Advisor at the Syracuse Campus of Bryant & Stratton College, where he was responsible for coordinating various advising services and expanding the First Year Experience (FYE) program. Since joining Ithaca College and the Academic Advising Center in 2013, Ryan has worked to strengthen student capacity for academic achievement and retention through the appropriate identification and implementation of advising services.
When not actively working with the many great members of the Ithaca College community, Ryan enjoys spending time with his family and two dogs, Paisley and Wilson. He also loves the Buffalo Bills, has been known to never turn down an invitation for golf, and has seen every episode of Seinfeld (more than once).
