Randy K. DeVett-McKeon, M.S.
I am thrilled to join the Ithaca College family as an Advisor in the Advising Center. I am serving as Liaison to the School of Music and The School of Humanities and Sciences. Like all the advisors in the center I am able and willing to assist students from any of the Schools. I look forward to meeting and getting to know the IC students and working with them in any way I can to assist them with academic success. I love learning and am excited to help students find the tools they need to be successful.
I come to the Ithaca College Academic Advising Center after serving the students at Le Moyne College for two years as Assistant Director of Academic Advising and Outreach. In that position I worked with First Year Programs (FYP) to coordinate Learning Communities, as well as serving as Advisor for the Choice Learning Community for exploring students. I also advised international students, students-at-risk, and transfer students. In fact, I worked diligently to establish Le Moyne’s chapter of the Tau Sigma National Honor Society for transfer students. I have completed two Master’s Degrees, an M.S. in Education from SUNY University at Albany, and an M.S. in Higher Education Administration from Syracuse University. Prior to my work in higher education, I spent over 20 years teaching K-12 Music, and establishing and directing the Drama program in the Utica Catholic schools.
