As Director of the Center for Academic Advancement (CAA), Sally J. Neal, Ph.D., is responsible for the Academic Advising Center, Student Accessibility Services, Tutoring Services, and the Office of State Grants, which houses IC’s HEOP, C-STEP, and C-STEM academic support services.
Dr. Neal began her work in academic services at the University of Connecticut, where she received her M.A. in Higher Education, and her Ph.D. in Adult Learning/Educational Leadership. She has over 15 years of higher education experience, which includes a commission chair with the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA), and holding the positions of Dean’s Designee, Orientation Coordinator, and Transfer Advisor in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at UConn. Dr. Neal was also the Founding Director of the ACE-IT Center at Western Wyoming Community College, and was responsible for academic advising, career services, internship opportunities, and transfer student services.
When Dr. Neal is not actively working with IC’s incredible students, faculty, and staff, she spends her time with her two children, Zack and Maddy, and has never seen a Springsteen concert she didn’t like.
