Omega Hollies is a Michigander who moved to Ithaca is 2018 as the Assistant Director for the Center for IDEAS. She loves the area as it reminds her of the culture of Ann Arbor combined with the beauty of the Upper Peninsula.
She attended Grand Valley State University for both undergrad and grad school, earning a BA in Group Social Studies in 2008 and a M.Ed in Higher Education in 2012. Her scholastic interests include: Meaning Making for Adult Learners, Oppressive Systems, Sociology of Race & Ethnicity, Historical Sociology, Modern Feminism, and 20th Century American History.
Omega believes that strong community, however it may look, is a vital need for all students and that every student has the power to craft their community. In doing her part, she seeks to cultivate relationships with students that are honest, vulnerable, and uplifting.
